Easter Egg Hunt

We woke up this morning and sweet Parks had the flu, it's pretty bad so Lily Kate and I went to church alone and then came home to take care of him. We missed the big egg hunt at church but we had our very own in the backyard . She caught on immediately and filled her basket. Then we sat in the grass and opened the eggs and poured out the cereal and crackers onto the grass. Then she ate most of it. We had fun. I look forward to celebrating as a whole family Jesus' resurrection in the years to come. Happy Easter.

Last Weekend

We got a bubble maker that is so fun in the bathtub and on the porch. Lily Kate points to it and says "bubba, bubba"

Just lounging! I think we're rounding a corner, LK is sort of learning to chill. Every once in a while she will just lay on her back on the hardwood floor and smile. Whatever floats her boat, I'm just glad she's being still for a minute.

Our friends, Mike & Jacinda came to visit us this weekend with their son, Andrew. He and Lily Kate had a blast! This picture below was taken just seconds before he kissed her, look at her little smile. She didn't understand the kisses (yes, there were many) but she thought it was funny. Little flirt.

I thought this was so sweet, they are both wearing fleece pants and pink shirts and are very proud of that! HannahGrace is so good with Lily Kate, in this picture she's reading to her.

Being Silly

Pig Tails!

Her tiny little hair is long enough for pig tails! I discovered this last night and I have a feeling she'll be wearing them every day now, it's just too cute. Mom & Dad, I can see in my mind a picture that we have of me at her age doing this same silly smile that she's doing above.

I thought this shot was beautiful, she's looking less like a baby, more like a girl.

So, we had a little birthday party for Lily Kate, dinner and cake with friends. She absolutely loved playing with the other kids and the cake was a highlight. It was so great to celebrate the first year of her life with people who love her.

here she is, all bundled up, looking kind of funny without her hair showing. The rustling of the leaves when Parks was raking was surprisingly a little scary to Lily Kate. Still, she has fun roaming free in the backyard.

Little Baller

Lily Kate found her new passion while she was visiting her family..... basketball. I'm not too sure there's a future there (with the height genes and all) but for now she's an all star!

Rainy Day Cutie

Lily Kate had a great week with her family, I'm not sure she even knew we were gone. She misses them now that she's home, she points to their pictures and tries to pull them off the bulliten board.

Cracker!

Lily Kate learned a new word today! Cracker.....well, actually "ca ca" but now if she sees a cracker she says "ca ca" and does the more sign. That makes 3 words: ba ba (bottle), da da, and now ca ca. She's officially brilliant.

This is baby Lillian, Myers and Laura's brand new daughter. Isn't she beautiful?! Lily Kate's going to eat her up!

Ugly Sweaters

Our friends had an ugly Christmas sweater party. What you can't tell from the picture is that Parks' ladies sweater vest has jingly bells on it and that he wore furry Santa suit boxers over his jeans AND that he won the trophy (yes, a real trophy) for the tackiest outfit. It will be proudly displayed on the shelf at his office :) Merry Christmas!
