What a great summer day

Yesterday morning we went to a place called Fit 4 Fun and LK had a blast, she ran around picking up toys and then dropping them 2 sec later when the next thing caught her eye. After while she slowed down and got a little more focused. Oh and I wanted to report that yesterday Lily Kate said (unprompted) "that's funny" and then gave her little social laugh. It sounded more like "dats fuuyey" but it was hilarious.

Then last night we went down to Carolina Beach and watched fireworks with a group of friends. Lily Kate clapped and said "woah" a lot. The echo tripped her up (like last 4th of July). She kept hearing the boom behind her too and so she would watch the fire work and then turn around really quickly to see if there were some behind her. She was a fan.

I had to steal this great shot from my dad, Jack' s name was one of the first names that Lily Kate would call out as we passed the pictures on her bullitin board. She has a lot of enthusiasm for her big cousin.

Our girl is so silly, she goes a mile a minute. It's really hard to take pictures of her these days b/c she is never still. One trick I have found is to sit her in my lap and take a picture of us and then she get's to look at it, it's sort of working (below). So, Parks always says to Lily Kate, "guess what?..... I love you". He says it a ton of times a day and today he said, "guess what?" and she said, "I wuv you" before he could finish. It was priceless.

Summer is finally here!!

Today was our first day out to the beach this season and it was a blast, she played in the water and laid on her back in the sand and rolled around. It's going to be a good summer.

I was looking at the most recent picture of Lily Kate and me on our porch swing thinking about how much time we've spent on it over the past 15 months. She will be 15 months tomorrow. (That's my bracelet she's eating)

Fun in the Sun

Parks and I have been doing a lot of work in the front yard the past few days so Lily Kate has spent a lot of time in her "pooo" out there with us. Here are some shots of her just having fun. She is saying so many words now, it's really fun. I'm adding to her list but there are about 25 thigns that she says on her own. I think the caption of the picture below should be "Does this flamingo accentuate my belly?"

My Sweet Girl

Lily Kate asks for a "nack" when she's hungry - which is about every 25 min. She really likes sweet pickles, turkey dogs, and yogurt. Pickle sounds something like "kick ku" and yogurt is sort of like "go gu". But she still asks talks about her old favorites "cacker" and "cer yul" too. I feel sorry for our babysitters, they don't know her language and they're lost.

I think the pretty girl likes me best! We finally met Lillian this weekend when we went to visit the fam in VA. She's beautiful and loves to laugh and smile. I'm not kidding, she has a thing for me :)

Easter Egg Hunt

We woke up this morning and sweet Parks had the flu, it's pretty bad so Lily Kate and I went to church alone and then came home to take care of him. We missed the big egg hunt at church but we had our very own in the backyard . She caught on immediately and filled her basket. Then we sat in the grass and opened the eggs and poured out the cereal and crackers onto the grass. Then she ate most of it. We had fun. I look forward to celebrating as a whole family Jesus' resurrection in the years to come. Happy Easter.

Last Weekend

We got a bubble maker that is so fun in the bathtub and on the porch. Lily Kate points to it and says "bubba, bubba"

Just lounging! I think we're rounding a corner, LK is sort of learning to chill. Every once in a while she will just lay on her back on the hardwood floor and smile. Whatever floats her boat, I'm just glad she's being still for a minute.

Our friends, Mike & Jacinda came to visit us this weekend with their son, Andrew. He and Lily Kate had a blast! This picture below was taken just seconds before he kissed her, look at her little smile. She didn't understand the kisses (yes, there were many) but she thought it was funny. Little flirt.
