The Fall Festival

This afternoon we went to the Fall Festival with our church and Lily Kate dressed up a Titan's cheerleader (Parks likes to take every opportunity for her to wear this thing). She waved her pom pom and clapped - she's already a pro.

Growing Up

This is Parks encouraging LK to walk with a box of cereal. She is so close. She'll step away from the ottoman and shift her weight from foot to foot thinking about walking, and then eventually just sit down or lean toward the object falling on it......it won't be long.

Our friends, the Gayles, had a baby this weekend. This is their oldest, Hannah Grace, who Lily Kate absolutely loves!

An Exciting Weekend

Parks and I carved these pumpkins this weekend, it took about 3 hours......no, I'm kidding. We definitely did not do these, we went to the State Fair in Raleigh and watched a man carve these. Aren't they incredible?

Learning new things

For a couple weeks now Lily Kate has been crawling over to the edge of something, standing up, and letting go. She won't walk yet, but she's thinking about it. She just stands for about 45 sec and then slowly lowers herself back down......one thing at at time

I have been reading her books lately and have been impressed that she has finally stoped chewing on them long enough to look at the pictures. I found her sitting alone turning the pages on this book yesterday. (yeah, yeah, I know it's upside down - but, she's learning!)

I can't get a picture of this one yet, but Lily Kate's got "SO BIG" down now. If you ask her, "how big is Lily Kate?" her little arms go up by her head and she waits for you to clap and then she joins in the clapping. Sometimes even if you don't ask she raises her arms and then claps for herself. What a big girl!

A Relaxing Weekend

Becca was in town Saturday and we had a short, but great visit!

Today Parks and I took LK on a walk at the park with some swinging beforehand. I really think she would swing for a straight hour if I had the endurance.

Yesterday was Daddy's Birthday!

Sept 5 was Parks' birthday. Lily Kate helped him celebrate. After work she tried on the gift she got him and, if you know Parks' love for the Titans, then you already know he LOVED it. LK just learned to clap, so it was really funny to see her in a cheerleader uniform clapping and smiling - she might have a future in this.

To the Beach...

A great day was had by all. In the past Lily Kate has not been too fond of the beach, but today was a success. She swam, ate sand, and napped in Mom's lap. She enjoyed herself - which is a good thing because we plan on making that girl into a beach baby.

WooHoo, our new deck is finished. The next phase is lattice on the left side so we can grow a vine over the top.
